QuestionQUESTION: Tom,
In one of your answers you mention that for an avacado to produce fruit it needs another avacado tree growing near by. How close should it be? I took a pit and just stuck it in the ground and now it's growing rather nicely.
ANSWER: Hi Jaime,
Thanx for your question. Another avocado tree should be close by so that when bees pollinate one tree they don't have to go far to pollinate the other. In the same acre would be nice and 25 feet away would be even better. I hope this helps.

QUESTION: Rom,
This is actually in my back yard. Would I be right in assuming that a little closer than 25 feet wouldn't hurt?
Thanks,
Jaime
AnswerHi Jaime,
You would be absolutely correct in your assumption. I'm a Kansas man who lived in California for a while many years ago. This is one of those times I miss California. Oh, if only I could grow an avocado tree in Kansas! I hope this helps and let me know how things go with your avocado seedlings.
