QuestionHow do you propergate creeping juniper. What time of the year do you take cuttings, how big a piece, what do you plant it into(mixture)etc. I have a 110meter long wall that I want to cover with juniper.Thank you, Loraine.
AnswerHi Lorraine,
Thanx for your question. Creeping junipers can be propagated by cuttings.
Cuttings from all varieties are considered easy to root. Take 8-inch-long cuttings and remove the needles from the lower 2 inches.
Dip in a rooting hormone such as Rootone (don't overdo it, though) and stick the cuttings in a rooting mix or in prepared beds.
Late summer or early fall is the time to take cuttings. Most cuttings will root.
I hope this helps.
Tom
