Can you start pussy willow from a twig? If so, do you put it in water until roots appear or do you put it directly into dirt?

Thanx for your question. I have expertise in various methods for starting plants.
Pussy willows are easy to start in a jar of water on a sunny window sill. It only takes a couple of weeks to get a full complement of roots. Plant the rooted cutting in an area that gets full sun for 6-8 hours a day after all danger of frost has passed. You can also stick a pussy will twig into damp soil and water periodically and the cuttings usually will take root in a couple of weeks. I hope this helps.
