QuestionI have had some celosia 'Kimono' plants this year. The heads are dying off now and i would like to collect the seeds to grow my own next year. Can you tell me what part of the plant is the seed?
On the plants there are little husks like that on wheat, is this the seed?
Thanks,
Lucy
AnswerHi Lucy,
Thanx for your question. The plant you mentioned is a hybrid. The seeds will probably not produce any plants that look like the plant you have. You can go ahead and collect the seed to see what you might get. Take the dried bloom and gently shake it over a white piece of paper or paper towel. The tiny, shiny black seeds should be evident as the fall from the spent flower. There should be a lot of seeds. I hope this helps.
