QuestionTom,
What would be the proper procedure for extracting seeds from the fruit of the blueberry bush? I am interested in trying to start some plants from seed. Thank you.

AnswerHi Norm,
Thanx for your question. Place the berries on a papertowel in your kitchen and allow them to dry out. You should be able to extract the seeds and then gently press them into some wet potting soil and place the pot inside a plastic baggie and put it in the fridge for about 2 months. Remove the pot from the fridge and keep at 75 degrees F. Or you can place the pot outdoors for the winter but keep it watered so it doesn't dry out completely. Germination should occur next spring. If you8 do the fridge method you may be able to get them to germinate sooner but you can;'t plant them outdoors until after the last frost. I hope this helps.
