QuestionHi Tom,
I took 4 seeds from a golden delicous apple and planted them. Something came up (also some clover) and I was hoping it was an apple tree. Then 3 more came up one by one. I have now idea what a seedling of an apple tree looks like. Also, I pinched the two lower leaves off of the biggest one that's about 1 1/2 inches tall(probably a mistake), now it is sagging. The other ones are doing good, only their smaller, I need to know if I should've pinched them off or the top ones? Thanks Tom, Jan
AnswerHi Jan,
Thanx for your question. I wouldn't pinch any leaves off of these seedlings unless the leaves are already dried up and dead. The seedling needs the leaves to gather energy from the sun to produce sugars to nurture itself.
I hope this helps.
Tom
