QuestionIt took my plants 3 years to bloom and now they are spreading rapidly. May I make cuttings for transplanting from the ones I prune?
Thank you,
John
AnswerJohn,
Absolutely. Bee balm (Monarda didyma) will root readily from cuttings.
Take a cutting with two set of leaves and remove the bottom set. Dip the bottom end in a rooting hormone available at your local garden center and put in the pot with moist growing media. Cover the pot with a baggie and place in indirect light. The cutting should root in about 3 weeks.
Hope this helps.
