Hi Tom,
I am growing perennial flowering plants from seeds and bulbs and I just have plenty of wonderful grown plants. I wonder whether I can sell these plants. Do I need to have permission from the company where I bought the seeds/bulbs? I am planning to commercialize my hobby. Do you have some advise especially in obtaining the rights to sell, if needed?
Thanks a lot!!!

Hi Lilian,
You can usually grow most plants from seeds and bulbs and sell them. Some plants are owned because they are hybrids and cannot be propagated vegetatively (by cuttings). You should mainly be concerned about local taxes and licenses for selling plants if you plan on doing it as a regular business. If you will give me your state and county I can provide you with a contact associated with your state university who can give you more details. I hope this helps.
