QuestionTom,
I have started some peppers indoors and also bought some from the greenhouse. The peppers from the greenhouse are huge compared to mine. What is the secrect to their plant size? Is it just that they planted their's so much sooner?
AnswerHi Christopher,
Thanx for your question. Sorry for being late. My monitor blew out and I had to get a new one. Peppers and tomatoes are usually started in large greenhouses at warm temperatures 75-80 degrees F and germinate quickly. Then you move them to a cooler temperature around 60-65 degrees. This helps the plants grow slower and more robust. They are also started in December or January. I hope this helps. Oh, also, they are fertilized every 7-10 days with half strength general fertilizer once they have two true leaves.
