Growing vines from seed

Question
hello,
I planted Morning glory and Moon flower seeds in 3" peat pots 3 weeks ago. I was  pleased when they came up quickly and grew vigorously. I am not using indoor lights, they get dawn to dusk sunlight, when the sun shines. Temperature about 70 degrees. A few days ago, on a couple of them, the bottom leaves started yellowing. I started fertilizing them about a week ago when I realized that since I sowed them in soilless soil they needed nutrients. Perhaps I waited too long? Now I notice that the newer leaves are very small. I hope to put them outside as soon as the weather warms up. [Eg today is 55 degrees, 45 at night - too cold I think]
The fertilizer is 5-1-1.

Any advice?
Thanks,
ellen

Answer
Hi Ellen,
Thanx for your question.  Once seedlings have sprouted and have their first set of true leaves (leaves that come after the first seed leaves) you should transplant to separate cells in a cell pak or pots.  Dilute the fertilizer buy 1/2 and fertilize once a week.  The seedlings should be planted in regular potting soil.  Don't put them out until nights are above 45 degrees.  I hope this helps.
Tom
