QuestionI don't know if you would have the answer to this question, but I thought that I'd give it a shot. I am home from college for the summer, and needed something to do. I knew that my parents have planning to put a patio of pavers out back, so I volunteered to make it my project for the summer, and they agreed. However, part of the area that will be the patio is covered in gravel by a previous owner. I know I'll have to dig it out, but what is the proper way to dispose of the gravel? Also, I will probably have to dig a little bit of an indent to put the pavers in, and I'm not sure what to do with the soil. Are there places to dispose of this extra earth?
AnswerHi Hannah, Your closest landfill should have no problem taking soil and gravel. If you know of anyone in the in-ground pool installation business give them a call. They usually know of local landowners that are looking for fill dirt. Or use it on the property...fashion a large doughnut shaped mound, slap a liner in it and make a water garden. Jim
