BY CODE, HOW MANY INCHES OF CONCRETE FOUNDATION MUST BE SHOWING BETWEEN DIRT LEVEL AND THE START OF THE SIDING? WE HAVE HAD DIRT RUN OFF FOR YEARS WHICH HAS PILED UP AGAINST THE FOUNDATION AND NOW ONLY ABOUT 3 IN OF CONCRETE CAN BE SEEN AGAINST ONE WALL

Hi Mary, You'll need to check with your local code enforcement to see if there is any 'code' regulating such an issue.  To my knowledge, there is not a code for existing structures where I live.  Common sense tells you that the soil should not come in contact with siding to prevent rot.  Jim
