QuestionHi,I recently planted a hydrangea. Although it has no blooms on it yet, I am curious to know if I need to add nutrients to the soil. I performed a ph, phosphorous, nitrogen, and potassium test. The ph is 6 and all other levels were in the medium scale. Any recomendations on adding fertilizer? Or should I set back and wait? Thanks for your help.

AnswerHi Charles, Chances are good it has a time released fertilizer in the soil mix. Most growers use them. There is no need to fertilize. Root stimulator would be a good idea, once a week or so, for 5-6 weeks. Next spring, after the new growth starts, apply an azalea fertilizer.
Don't prune until after they bloom next year. Jim
