QuestionI used "Origins" multi-purpose insect control on several plants in my garden. I came home after work to find everything in a droopy, wilted stage, presumably poisoned in reaction to the pesticide. Is there anything I can do to nurse my garden back to health? I sprayed/rinsed each plant thoroughly with water and heavily saturated the ground with H20 as well. Is there anything else I can do to help my poor plants? I would be so sad to see my garden die off after trying to save them from the bugs in the first place. Any advice would be golden at this point and I think time is of the essence.
Thanks!
AnswerHi Derrick, I'm not familiar with "Origins" and a quick search of the Internet did not help. Usually wilting after spraying an insecticide is related to temperature. Many insecticides (especially "organics") have either an oil like Neem or an insecticidal soap. Either product sprayed on a dry plant or when temperatures exceed 85, is likely to cause the leaves to curl and wilt.
I think you did the right thing. Continue to water them (foliage and ground) and they should recover. Jim
