QuestionThe device is a probe one sticks in the ground and one can then read the ph in a window. problem is everybody tells me they don't trust them (but everybody is not an expert either). do they work reasonably well? i don't see why they shoud not. thanx.
AnswerHi Wesley, I've had one for years and years and they are fairly accurate. I've checked the results with a liquid test and a Kelco (expensive) meter on several occasions and it's been within one half point everytime. As long as the tip is properly cleaned, I'd trust the results. Use caution not to damage the probe. The soil should be moist so the probe can be inserted easily. Jim
