QuestionGood day,
I'm not sure if this is a lawn question or a soil question. I have numerous ant hills in my yard, and they seem to keep multiplying. I've tried ant traps, but they don't seem to work. I am going to try the borax and icing sugar trick, but am wondering if it has anything to do with my soil.
AnswerHi Jason, Your soil has nothing to do with the ants, you just have ants. You couldn't possibly trap all of them so traps don't help much. Home remedies...try what you like.
My suggestion would be use an insecticide like Permethrin or Acephate or diatomaceous earth as an organic insecticide. If you use the DE, you'll need to re-apply after a rain or a heavy dew. Jim
