QuestionI am having difficulty growing new grass over an area where I had a Bradford Pear tree removed and the stump ground. I removed all the wood chips I could, added top soil and planted expensive grass seed. It did sprout, but notice some of it is yellowing.....any suggestions on what to add to the soil? I have tried baking soda and water. I live in the northeast (Delaware). The seed used is mostly fescue type. I have kept it moist. Thanks so much.
AnswerHi Anne,
Provided you put a good covering of top soil over the stump I cannot see why you would be having trouble growing the grass. Did the contactor apply a herbicide to kill the tree stump? I know this could cause problems with the grass.
Hope this helps.
