QuestionHello Larry,
We live in Eugene, Oregon, and have several mophead hydrangeas in a mostly shady, northern exposure border, alongside our house. Earlier in the summer, the flowers were blue, and the leaves were yellowing.
The flowers are more pinkish, now, and the leaves are yellowing more noticeably.
Additionally, some of the plants on this side of the house look sickly and yellowish.
The soil in our neigbhorhood tends to be fairly clayey.
Can you advise me what product I could use to perk up the hydrangeas, and what other steps I might take to diagnose a potential soil issue?
Thanks so much for your help!

Answerhi Ellen
your soil ph may be off and the soil may be lacking the organic peat needed to keep the flowers blue. have your soil tested add some peat to the soil and fertilize with a high nitrogen product made for acid loving plants. good Luck Larry ;-)
