QuestionMy soil is pretty much PH neutral but it has 0 nutrients. I've ammended the soil a lot but it still is pretty much the same. The new soil seems to disappear in a season and I'm left with the old, hard, clay-like soil. What can I do besides tear out all the plants and start over?
AnswerHi Nancy
clay soil is very rich in neutriants its only problem is drainage. the process of tilling in organic matter such as compost to amend it is widely used but should be done on a yearly basis to continue conditioning the clay. if the clay is to dence i would suggest removing the plants and deep tilling the compost into it to increase development the results will suprise you. Good Luck larry ;-)
